Alrededor de 175 discentes de los Programa de Formación policial e Investigación Penal y Criminalística de la UNES, se unieron este miércoles, a la jornada navideña ecosocialista que impulsó el Ministerio de Ambiente para la reparación de los espacios naturales como el Parque Río Torbes, ubicado en la avenida Marginal del Torbes de San Cristóbal.
Los jóvenes estudiantes se armaron de escobas, rastrillos e indumentaria rudimentaria para lograr la limpieza de caminerias, recolección de todo tipo de desechos, rescate de canchas deportivas y la reforestación en áreas verdes aptas para la siembra de especies de vegetación a lo largo y ancho del malecón del Parque Río Torbes.
La docente especialista en el área ambiental de la UNES, Ángela Rojas indicó que la institución se unió a esta importante actividad que busca rehabilitar de forma continua los espacios e infraestructuras del Parque Río Torbes, en donde además participaron efectivos de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana (GNB), la Policía Nacional Bolivariana (PNB), línea de taxis que hacen vida en la zona, cooperativas de transporte y comunidad en general.
“La idea es que las comunidades tengan la oportunidad de convivir y hacer el buen uso de sus espacios, entendiendo que los habitantes de Puente Real, Madre Juana y 23 de enero muestran interés en la recuperación de este importante pulmón vegetal de la ciudad”, explicó.
